You guys might also consider a billit grill replacement as is or paint it to match. Has anyone considered just taking the cladding off? The color underneath should by the body color. It might look sweet to remove cladding, paint bumpers and replace running boards with black nerf bars.

Mine is the Wedgewood Blue & Harvest Gold (tan plastic bumper trim) variety. I've given a lot of thought to painting the bumpers, but I'll most likely paint them the Harvest Gold hue, and do the grille shell in Wedgewood Blue. I already have a 3-piece aluminum grille insert set, and would paint them to match the grille shell. I am not a big fan of chrome on cars. I've already gotten the rear wind deflector, but it was already painted by Ford in Wedgewood Blue. I am still wanting to get the Ford F350 Lariat LE factory sun visor with integral clearance lights ... and I believe it only comes in black ... so it would need painting blue , too ... along with painting the backside of a clear bug deflector I have on hand.

Now what do I do with that brushed-aluminum fuel door? I may pull it apart and polish it ... it's not chrome, so that's OK with me. I am also nearing the completion of fabricating longer roof rack crossbars from the 2000-2002 Explorer model, and will use the Explorer rack towers ... but all those items will receive the basic black paint ... four bars total with an OEM appearance ... and NOT the X crossbars that sit right on the painted surface of the roof.

That's kinda the look I went for. 'Cept my nerf bars were chome. (not pictured in my avatar)

I didn't have cladding (XLT early) and the reason for my original post was that I was considering putting all black cladding on a green truck. I nixed that idea...

My next EX will be the all black X.
