just changed over from suburban to an 2000 x. dealing with a few problems that this forum has been alot of help with.(thanks guys)(and girls if any). one problem i'm not quite sure of how to address is the front end feels like it's floating at around 50mph and above. (almost like my suburban did when it was over loaded in the rear and towing) the x being a beefier rig shouldn't ride like this empty. but which fix would be best. (shocks, landyot rods, tires etc. etc....)
at your mercy so go easy on me |

Well, you mentioned my radius-rods, so you've obviously read about them. Does it feel like the front end is wandering ... sort of like the truck wants to change lanes even though you haven't applied any input in that direction? If so, then my radius-rods are a fix for a rear axle-induced steering ailment. If you would describe your "floating" problem different than what I just said, then you may have other issues.
If you want more info on the radius-rods, send me an e-mail (click on my username to get my e-mail address), and I'll forward you a lot of documents, images, and installation instructions.

Just a thought.

tire pressure is fine. could use new shocks. sounds like those radius rods are the best bet. to bad production might start as in aug. or later.(understandable reasons ). |

I understand the frustration. However, you do have other alternatives. You can get ladder bars for your X ... though I think they're about twice as expensive. Conversely, JC Whitney offers a radius-rod-like device, but it's nowhere near as stout as mine. Decisions, decisions. |

New shocks can change the ride of the Excursion tremendously.
Cheap, easy to install and readily available, I'd look in to getting a new set.
