Xers,
Did Ford change the shock mounts for the 03, 04 Excursions? I have talked to Bilstein and Rancho and they said they don't make shocks for those years due to a mount change???????????
Have I just entered the twilight zone..... Please help

I've been under a few '03s to install my radius-rod kit, and I cannot say I noticed anything different with the rear shock mounting points. I cannot vouch for the front end. |

Landyot,
Thanks for the reply, I talked with the guys at Jack It and they said that their Bilstein rep said they were the same. I apperantly got talking heads at each of the companies (Bilstein, Rancho) that were just looking in their fitting book. Hey , While I got the attention of the Master.... I have ordered a full set of Bilsteins and a rear Helwig. I am interested in your radius rods. I would like to order a set, I hear nothing but great things...... What is your backlog on orders and how do I get in line....

Well, you could read the post further down the list (all 10 pages of it). Here's the link: http://www.fordexcursions.com/forums/posts.php?threadid=2417 Or you could click on my username, send me an e-mail (Subject: radius-rods), and I'll reply with an info-pack.
Bottom line? The radius-rods eliminate a condition known as "axle-wrap" (common to all vehicles with leaf spring rear suspensions and a solid rear axle), which in turn, makes the ride smoother, and eliminates the "wandering" ailment common to the Mighty-X.
There are more testimonials about them over on the FTE website, too. |
