I don't mean to point any fingers, and I don't want anyone to take this personally, but what about all the talk of making sure you take the chip out of your truck before taking it in for service. Is that any less honest than the dealerships? Again, I'm not singling out anyone, but if I had a chip in mine I wouldn't take it out for service. That is why I'm waiting until I cross the 100K mile mark before any engine mods. I also understand that it is easier for me, with the miles I drive each year, than for others, but I couldn't do that.
I honestly think it all stems from the adversarial relationship between Ford and their dealers. Ford limits the warranty work, dealerships try to pad their expenses, customers feel like they are being screwed, so they figure they'll screw the dealership (and Ford) right back. And so it spirals onward. The whole atmosphere sucks.
Sorry for the rant, and sorry if I offended anyone. |
