Scott,
Q1: Is it a simple install. remove the blocks and stock leafs springs and put in the F350 leafs springs?
Q2: Is the ride really stiff? or does the Excursion's extra weight make the F350 leafs spring ride better then a F350 pickup?
Q3: Do you need to adjust the front leafs at all?
Q4: Does it increase the over all height? or can I keep the same stock lift?
Q5: How does the F350 leafs change the handling of the X. Better? no Change.
Q6: Why did you make this mod? was it worth the extra cost?
Thanks!

All you really need is a freind and some good heavy jack stands. Plan on a day for you and the beast. They are a direct bolt in.

the ride is stiffer than the X but softer than a f-350. Like you said the weight off sets the stiffness to a degree.

I replaced them both at the same time. I cant say for the rear only.
| Quote: | | Q4: Does it increase the over all height? or can I keep the same stock lift? |
I really dont know for the rears only. I guess you would have to be the test mule on this mod. I guess the rear would stay the same if you maintained the stock 1 3/4 block.
| Quote: | | Q5: How does the F350 leafs change the handling of the X. Better? no Change. | They are stiffer. They did reduce the axle wrap to a degree also.
| Quote: | | Q6: Why did you make this mod? was it worth the extra cost? | I replaced my front springs with F-350 X code(snow plow) springs and a pair of 2" mini springs. The rear are F-350 with out the overload spring and the 3 3/4 stock F-350 block and 2 extra leafs in the rear spring pack. I sit about 5 1/2 inches higher than a stock 4X4 X. I went this way so i could maintain a good rear spring than can handle the loads from mt current travel trailer(7500lbs).
I wanted a small lift for a little bigger tires but keep the good heavy springs for towing. I have heard lots of horror stories of trucks handling like shit after replacing springs with after market lift springs. Plus the only ones that handle good are the EDGE springs and are pricey. With 2 extra leafs my truck is way too tight now. I am first going to my buddys at the local spring shop and checking into if he can make me a 10 leaf rear spring with a 5 inch lift. I then would get rid of the rear block all together. If he cant I will go to call Marty and order the 5" EDGE rear springs.
I have pictures with measurements at stock height, with V codes , and X codes with the 2" mini packs in my gallery.

Good input....I figuare if I simply swap Xsprinps and block from F350 Spring all would be go. I would also remove the Traction bar so I don't have to cut it when installing Landyot's Radius Rods.
I have to do some more home work on this and see if my idea is right. The main reason why I don't want the extra lift is my X fits in my heated garage today....anymore and it's sitting in the driveway plugged in during the winter months.
Scrapping ice off the windshield of the X sucks! Trust me! Hey...heated windshield for the X...just like on the Range Rover. Maybe I'm on to something here?!?!?

X code front springs in the front will give you 2.75-3.00 inches of lift over the stock diesel springs. In the rear you will need the 4 inch block and a good possiblity of a extra leaf in the springs to level it out. So dig the floor out in your garage or get a cover....Car port???
