Interested in any ideas for my 2002 v10 4WD suspension. Now 38000 miles and the ride sucks. Feel every bump, crack in the road. Have new Michelin LTX M/S load range E tires. Have replaced the shocks, no help. Ready for major upgrade. Also have replaced rotors 3 times and still have pulsating with pedal. Do I need new calipers & lines?

Tom

The suspension problems on this truck are now well documented with multiple installs of varius solutions.

The most popular being using SD pick up springs to make the corrections and addition/increase of a rear sway bar (size).

I have been an active poster on this subject on that other site, TDS.com

I did a ton of research in late 2001 and early 2002 for my 2002X and posted all the information.

Take a look for my posts under Bruce1954 , same as here and you will find enough recomendations and repeted results to keep you reading from now into next week. Also lots of good (and some not so good) by others but You can find most all by the search engine on that site if you fill in all the blanks it will give you what you want.

I have not seen more than a week or two go by that someone is not upgradding the sorry front end of an X and some good work to the rear as well.

I have the Michelins, also, but I went with the Load Range D instead. My tire guy warned me that the 10-ply (LR-E) tire would give me a much stiffer ride. I, too, am working on the ride of my 2000 X 4x4. I will be installing the Hellwig rear anti-sway bar and new shocks soon. What shocks did you go with? You saw no improvement in changing your shocks?

The rotor warpage is well documented due to over-torqueing of the lugnuts. Ford has released updated specs for my 2000 and I assume your 2002, too.

If you wish to smooth out the ride, and eliminate the "wandering" ailment common to the X, see the link below .... 13 pages of info there. I'll apologize now if it seems like I'm pushing the idea, but I really don't have to since the folks who bought them have provided their own testimony.

I'm one of the testimonials. The radius rods are still the only mod I did to my suspension, and I'm happy. I will be upgrading the shocks soon. I really believe that Ken has a superior upgrade for the X. You'll be very happy if you go that route.
