Has anyone tried to shorten the mirror mounts so they retract all the way in the distance of the remaining mount ? This amounts to about 2" per side in the collapsed state.
Do the base mirror mounts come apart from the support post or are they glued so they cannot be modified ?

Thanx

Interesting idea. So you don't want to be able to extend them as far. Rather, you want them to be as close to the door as possible, correct? I'm sure it can be done. All we need is for somebody to try.

Personally, I like mine sticking out (um, don't read anything into this statement ) as far as possible. You know what I mean!

If you bring them in too close, you might have some vision restriction.
