Hey guys, I have a 2000 Excursion 4WD with 90,000 miles on it and the shocks appear to be worn out. I am thinking about getting the RS9000X shocks with the remote capability. Is it fairly easy to reach the manual settings or would it be a good idea to get the remote control? Also, I would like to mount the remote hardware in a place that that hides it. Any good locations to mount the hardware? I have considered the Bilstein shocks also and would like a recommendation on which shocks would suit me best. I have a Hybrid camper that I will be pulling a few times a year that weighs around 5000 lbs loaded. I won't be doing any off-roading. This is strictly a family vehicle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Roger

thanks for the welcome.i'm not looking for more than 2 inches of lift but dont want to buy shocks more than once will factory shocks be long enough? right now thinking of using v codes and larger ford blocks.

V codes will give you 2 inches on a gasser with the ford 4 inch block in the rear. I used my factory sized Rancho's with the the V codes. I wish i still had the Rancho's so i could do a side by side evaluation. I do love my Bilsteins though.
