Ok they just delivered my 2004 V10 4x4, but I don't know what axle ratio it has. On the door jamb tag it reads under axle 31. Does that mean anything to anybody?

By the way I bought it used.

I haven't found an Excursion with nothing other than the 3.73 rear but I'm sure a ring and pinion shop could change that in a couple hours tho

Birdman,

Thanks for posting the codes. I've looked for those before and couldn't find them anywhere.

Now for further confusion, I just checked the door tag and there isn't any code under "axle". My original window sticker says 3.73 axle but the tag on the axle says:

3 S 410 B
73 10 2 0A04

There is also a sticker on the axle that says 410 B. So I would guess that is a 4.10, would that be open or LS? RPM's at 65-70 mph is just above 2000 with a V-10. I remember seeing a post somewhere that the 3.73 should be running those RPM's and the 4.3 was higher RPM's at 65-70.

Input any one?

You have 3.73's. Under the tag in front of the 73 is the the other 3.
