Ive got a problem thats been buggin the heck outta me for a month or so....my 2nd doors on both sides rattle, and seem like they are loose. Is this normal or can I adjust the keeper for the door inboard so that they are engaged tighter?? It drives me nuts goin down the road over uneven stuff they sound like the latches are loose!!

Thank you!!

Scott....
you just hit on my only complaibnt about my otherwise superb X....
the drivers side rear dorr would "rattle" at times...
dealer was very cooperative and adjusted it for me....
now I have wind noise and can HEAR the road noise....

Am going to bring it to a buddy of mines auto body shop - figure they can
"beat it to fit and paint it to match" !!!!!

Once they've adjusted the doors that puts the weatherstripping out of place so to speak. Might have to put a new set on to get the door and body to seat up again for a good seal.

Maybe put a thin bead of petroleum jelly on the weatherstripping going around the doors close then open to see what part/s is not making contact.

Just a suggestion

I had a lot of play in my left rear door ie you could push in and really feel it spring against the weatherstripping. Body shop had to drill out latch bracket and replace it after adjusting position. It helped but I have had to add weatherstripping "wedges" in critical areas to dampen vibrations. I noticed both rear doors to not have rubber bumpers just below window level where there is clearly a site for that. I placed weatherstripping there. I also placed formed weatherstripping between the latch bracket and the body so that that area of the door has plenty of dampening. I akso lined all my doors with hush mat as I was upgrading speakers. It definitely helped a bit along with vaseline on all bumpers to reduce squeaks. GOOD LUCK!
