My friend just did 305/70-16 on a 16x8 rim and his 01 PSD Ex is a stock 4WD. This tire size will work on a factory 16x7 wheel as well but a wider rim will allow for the tire to fit as intended. You WILL have some issues with rubbing on the front without the wider rim. I also know for a fact that a 295 will rub in the 75 profile.

Sorry but I forgot- WELCOME TO THE FORUM-don't hesitate to ever ask anything as there is no such thing as a dumb question. I know that when I first started, everyone was very helpful. You will find that there are some very technically proficient people on this site.

Best wishes with your new EX and post some pix soon!

In my opinion I don't think you got a good deal. I think you stole it! Congrats, that is a really awesome deal!

Thank you I feel better I was a little worried about the miles.

But it is so clean and not a rattle in the thing. I had to put a windshield in it 179.00 installed but other than that turn key.

The oil and fuel filter was just changed and I got the entire service records.
It was maintained like clock work at the original dealer.

Do you have an opinion on the banks six gun module?

I am looking also to increase the mileage and get a little more power not too much though the ol girl has 120K.

Thanks for your input in advance

Welcome to the site!
I ran 285x75x16 BFGoodrich all-terrain. They looked GREAT with NO rubbing. Everyone thought I installed a small lift, but it was just the tires. I recommend THAT size without a lift. They are perfect.

My friend has similar truck but is running 305x75x16 and is rubbing SEVERLY! He can barely turn the wheel!

I am not sure that anything bigger than 285's will fit. I know others say it will, but I have seen otherwise. I would NOT run them.
Good luck.

I have no experience with the Banks six gun but my buddy has done an air intake with the Banks 5" exhaust and it made a huge improvement. The exhaust is very quiet and the interior noise level is very minimal. As far as a "chip", my opinion is that if you are not regularly towing, it is probably not worth while. Several folks I spoke with said that the big 7.3L engines can handle being tuned because they are "de-tuned" to begin with. The problems lies with the rest of the truck being able to handle the increased power, especially the transmission. I am the kind of person who prefers longetivity and durability over higher performance. I know that you can see a nice increase in fuel economy but at what expense? Warranty loss, mechanical breakdown, etc. Sure ,I have hot rodded my gas EX a little bit, but I will happily spend a couple of extra bucks for gas if it means trouble free ownership.

Just my 0.2 cents
