QUESTION??? WIth the modifications below. Do I need to worry about my transmission or anything?? I have 33 K miles???? ANd in the winter what oil should i run??
SORRY FOR posting questions like this but still learning about the site!!!
I have a 7.3 and in 3 stages I added a air intake, then alittle later added Banks exhaust turbo back, and lastly added the supership.
I have to tell you ...... I saw better fuel economy and performance from the Air intake and the exhaust. I just added the chip though and WOOOOOOWWWWW!
The performance is mind boggling ...but I do not tow and when I do it is light. I was not so much interested in a 0-60 corvette muncher but the performance is nice when you need it. The most amazing thing I have found in the short time I have had the chip is the truck runs completely different.
It is quiet!!! At idle you almost can not hear the diesel in the cabin. and the shift points are MUCH MORE in line with what I like. .......I am very much looking forward to seeing the economy side of it....Hopefully 1-3MPG???. I have to say even if it was 1 MPG the quietness and the shifting alone were worth it. The performance to me is just an added bonus.

I'd invest in a set of good gauges so you can monitor your EGT's as you don't want em to get too high as you'll detonate the turbo and could do other costly damage
If towing get a tranny gauge along with Boost and Pyrometer to complete the trio.
It's better to know whats going on with your engine/tranny than to depend on the stock dummy gauges

For the Northeast I'd stick with the basic recommended Dino oil

do you recommend any certain brand of gauges and are they difficult to put in?

I'm old school I like Autometer as that's all I installed on 5.0's Pyro and boost gauages are the basic gauges needed and installation is pretty forward,if you do some towing a tranny gauge is good to have also
Bob Riley aka Dieselsite stocks Autometer and is a site sponsor
