It's great to be a new member! Love my Ex. Does anybody know the location of the factory amplifier? It might be behind one of the rear panels but it would sure be good to get the location from someone who has seen it before. Thanks!! |

Welcome to the Board Joe
You're asking of an amplifier? I'll assume stereo amplifer, well to my knowledge there is none.
It'll be an all in one package tuner/CD/cassette unit that pulls out of the dash.

If you're going to keep your stock radio but upgrade your speakers and want more precise sound I'd add an EQ depending on how the fundage is
But if the fundage is unlimited skys the limit.

money is no object, but the fack is that I have after market stereos but I have all the DVD and controlers in the Ex and Im looking at not compomising the whole stereo system, I think if I go with the amp and aftermarket speakers with maybe a base tube on another amp so I can turn the darn thing off when I listen to my news and country music, that would be great. I want the big 10" subs in the rear doors but I see too many of those comming apart and I really dont need all that boom boom stuff.

Yes, the factory system with dvd and in dash 6 cd has a factory amplifier somewhere. I need to find it so I can tap in a coverter which will allow me to keep the intergrated dvd, rear audio controls, and steering wheel controls intact while using my amps, speakers and subs. I called my ford dealer and he said uuuuhhhh........(what I expected). Best buy says it's there but they didn't know where either. |

yeah its an ok system, just hard to watch the DVD screen and the road when the seat is all the way back and reclined
yall watch out for the little plastic clips on those screens that hold it closed, mine broke off and my screen falls open all the time, I have fixed it with velcro. that worked but widh the clips were still there
