Hey All....long time no talk ... hey, is there a way to get the factory programmed code from my '01 X without going to the dealer? The manual says that it is on the owner's wallet card in the glovebox...unfortunately, that guy never left it in there for me! Seems like there'd be some back door way to get it by doing some secret sequence (tap break pedal 6 times, then hold while opening and closing the door twice ) Any suggestions? |

Hey Matt,
Yeah I thought of the same situation before and without the card you're left with the dealer as far as I know
Wish it could be as easy as disabling the door chime tho

I've heard it's under the dash and you may need a mirror to see the number.
Not having seen one myself I don't know which side of the dash its on or how big of a box to look for. |

I frequent three forums for the X and in two years of action, lots of folks have offered where you could find the code, but I have never heard of anyone that actually found it. Sorry. The dealer will rape you to hook up their computer and retrive it.

It's there, I was on deployment in Wash DC and they received 10 new X's no codes. Under the drivers dash we went and there they were.
Got to love the GSA people. Strip all the info.

OK... where... specifically did you find it under the dash? I have looked at all of the places everyone says it's supposed to be and have struck out on my '00. PLEASE share...

I guess I'm really fortunate. The local Ford dealer retrieved my door code for me - as a courtesy and never charged for the service. What can I say. They've been good folks. |
