| Quote: | Matt,
After you do the install of the Husky's could you post a picture?
I'm still debating the whole flap thing, I'm leaning toward the Husky flaps. I'd skip the hole idea other than the slop on the boards bugs me more than which flap to buy.
Any pictures that you guys can post would be great.
As for the mats, the Catch-All mats are what I like. http://www.niftyproducts.com/ |
Will do, I'll also post a picture of the Husky Cargo liner with/without the third row bench removed.
Good luck! |

I'll keep you guys posted. I am hoping to play with this over the weekend.
My auto parts friends got in the Huskys as well as "Powerflows". Both are listed to fit.
The Husky rears are a bit bigger than the fronts...but I'll try to get it all sorted out and pass the info along. |

Mud guard update.
Last Sunday, I spent entirely too much time trying to figure this out.
1. At least for my '05...Ford and Husky do not make parts that fit. They are cut-out for that "spat" that runs along the bottom of the quarter on certian year Ex's. Powerflow rears fit, but require some effort.
2. Fronts. Again, for my '05. I had Huskys for the front, but since the backs did not fit, I dismissed the set. The Powerflows fit great along the outside edge, but will contact the tire upon turning left. I was very glad I did not drill into the truck.
3. Ford only makes fronts (according to them) that fit my '05. When put into position these too contact the tire when turned left. My dealer called Ford accessories and they said to " have the customer bring them in and make sure that they are installing them correctly..they have had no complaints".
I stopped at the auto parts shop to return the aftermarket parts and was asked to call Powerflow and see what the story was. (My friends at the store were concerned about returning these and getting a credit since they were partially installed).
I called Powerflow and was told that while the part numbers I had are listed for 2000 +, they DO NOT fit '05s and that there will be a '05 Super Duty part available...but no mention of anything for Excursions yet.
Of all...the Powerflows were the nicest, but contacted the wheel. Did something change in the fenders-front end for '05 that could cause this? They are a two piece with a soft rubber flange and the harder flap. The two pieces clip together. The Huskys more resemble the Ford pieces, and may attach better...but I did not fit them to the fronts.
Finally, found out about Duraflaps. They offer a big-rig style flap that installs with no drilling (woo-hoo). They have yet to make them for an Ex, but will custom make a set of 4 for $250. That's alot, but may be the solution.
Hope this helps. |

I installed the front and rear Ford OEM molded mud flaps on my 04' EB and would recommend them to anyone. Perfect fit, quality look, running boards now clean. |
