My 05' X has a factory installed swaybar that comes with the 4X4 tow package. My question is if I remove the stock swaybar and install the Helwig swaybar will my ride improve? Or is a swaybar a swaybar. I was also wonering if anyone has installed Landyot's radius bars on an 05' X 4X4.

Thanks in advance!

Jason -- I believe you will see an improvement with the Hellwig anti-swaybar for two reasons. One, I've heard the several times that the Hellwig bar is little more stout than the OEM bar. And two, the Hellwig bar's mounting points on the axle are further outbaord than the OEM's, which will allow the bar to flex or twist less, and provide better output from the bar itself.

My records indicate nobody has yet installed a set of radius-rods on an '05 model. I expect someone to do so soon because I received an inquiry from one fellow who said he would not purchase an '05 unless he could get a set of radius-rods The Excursion's rear suspension was changed slightly for the '04 model, and the '05 is identical to the '04. There are several '04s out there with the radiud-rods.

Landyot, I'll get the radius arms for my 2005 as soon as I figure out if I'm switching my rear spring blocks to the F-350 blocks so you can size the radius arms correctly.

Jason, I had the dealer swap out the 24MM rear sway bar for othe larger 30MM oem bar. With labor, that cost was only $100.
