Hello Gentlemen
I am in a process of changing the headlights in my 2000 diesel x from originals to work truck model. I am changing the wires as well as I am putting European H4 bulbs. Seems that I burned the fuse from passanger side low beam. Is there separate fuse for drivers side and passanger side. The diagram that I have is for gasoline x, and it seems to be different than what I see under the steering wheel fuse box ?
So where do I locate the correct fuse please ?

wow.... you;'ve got me stumped on this one. I really thought the fuse wiring would be the same for gasoline and diesel Excursions. I guess I was wrong. I wish I could help you, though.

Guys
Do we have only "Wash and Go" drivers reading ?
I am heading down to my garage in 30 mins to get the conversion done. Desperately looking for answer. So only passanger side low beam off. All the fuses under the stearing wheel seemed to be ok. Also the fuses in the box in engine room in front of the driver.
Anyone knows ?

Looking at a schematic of the lamps, the low beam fuse is routed to the battery junction box to fuse 21 and the right lamp to 23, both 10 amp. The high beam is fused through the central junction box to a 15 amp fuse. The circuit passes through two switches and two junction boxes. Have you tested the circuit with a new lamp? |

Thanks Andy
Yes I tried with different bulp as well, and result the same: right low beam off.
I got the change done and it DOES NOT LOOK GOOD compared to original. Plus the H4 European light power is not as good as the original, whatever the statistics say. I don't recommend to anyone. I am going to get the covers cromed later. It might make it a bit nicer.
And late thanks to CPHMustang for a good hint with the parts dealer. They had exelent service.
I'll go back to the garage and try to locate that burned fuse.
Thanks again

Thanks Andy
The fuse 23 was burned. And to be honest - I should have found that myself.
BTW You have nice stereo system. I showed that to my wife, but no luck. I have to stick with open cargo space I was told.

I have since removed the system due to adopting two boys and having a new born. But my wife is clamoring for the bass to return. I am thinking about an 8" Bazooka to help with where the stock system is insufficient. |
