I just bought a used 2004 Excursion. It has the DVD Entertainment center in it. I just cannot figure out how to get the audio to play through the speakers. I have looked at the manual and it does not give instructions on how to do this. PLease help asap. The kids ar getting tired of watching Nemo in silence.

Press the headphone/speaker symbol button to activate/de-activate the speakers.
You also toggle between headphones and speakers using that button.
I referred to our owners manual.

Bill -- Well we could get the radio to work in the rear speakers now but not the audio from the DVD player. Any other ideas?

Here's right from my book see if it gets you some audio.
Press the headphone/speaker control again to engage the rear speakers and deactivate the personal audio feature .In this mode you can adjust the audio output on all speakers - front and rear together.
The rear seat passengers can not raise the volume of the system above the level on the front radio bezel.

OK from the rear console I can adjust the volume change channels and change from FM FM2 AM and CD. Even though the DVD is playing on screen when you push the media button it never allows you to controll the volume for it or allow it to play over the speakers.

Try enabling the rear controls try pressing 3 & 5 simultaneously on the front dash stereo controls then see if you can get the DVD audio by pressing the headphone/speaker button.
