Has anyone had to replace the front hub assemblies? I had to replace both front assemblies when my '00 X V10 4X4 LTD was lifted. My question is this, has anyone had this problem with a stock set up and what did Ford do about it. I had replace one and I did the other, I noticed that the replacement hub was redesigned with a larger bearing and what appeared to be a thicker inner seal. Anyone experience the same issue? Ford voided all warranty on this item stating the lift and tires were to blame, the weld rims were more centered that the factory set up!

The job was no problem, I actually should have done the first one myself instead of the $600 in labor it cost from ford. The problem seems to fairly common amongst other X and Superduty owners here in Jax. I have an extended bumper to bumper warranty to 100k and it would have covered it if the lift was not on. If you know a service writer in Ford or another quality care shop it might help in the warranty coverage. The complete hub assembly cost me about $370 wholesale through Ford, no aftermarket. I went ahead and replaced the oem auto hubs as well, I should have upgraded to the Warn hubs but did not want my wife to have to get out at the beach to lock it in. Anyway thats my story. You will know when they go out, it is a typical binding action. A haynes or chiltons manual and common sense will guide you right through it. If anyone has a question about the install let me know.
