How can I determine which rear-end is on my 2003 5.4 X? Just curious so I can get a handle on my load capacity...

Hi John I took these specs from Ford's website.
Engine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Axle Ratio,,,GCWR,,,,Max.Trailer Weight:
5.4L (330) SEFI Triton® V8 (4x2),,,,,,,3.73,,,13,000,,,,,,,,,,6,100
5.4L (330) SEFI Triton® V8 (4x2),,,,,,,,4.1,,,,,14,500,,,,,,,, 7,600
5.4L (330) SEFI Triton®V8 (4x4),,,,,,,,,4.1,,,,,14,500,,,,,,,, 7,200

For the axle code Look at the Vehicle Certification Label on the lower part of the drivers side door pillar. Look for "axle" and under it will be a two digit code:
31 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-250/Excursion
C1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
C2 — 4.10 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
C3 — 4.30 limited slip, F-250/Excursion

If it's none of those lemme know what in the axle code location.

Looks like i've got the baby of the bunch... (5.4 w/a 3.73 non-limited slip rear-end...)

In spite of that, I still have the biggest truck in the neighborhood anyway!

Thanks for the info...

I checked out the door post and it read CG. It is raining and I am in a shirt and tie so crawling under the X is not an option at this point.
