Use the Components they sound much better. You will need to mount the tweeter somewhere on the door panel but they sound way better!!!! I have 3 sets of the 6.5 components in factory locations then another set in some Q-Logic kickpanels. |

Sounds like a plan. You wouldn't happen to have any pictures of your final install would you? Mounting the tweeter on the door panel shouldn't be a big deal right? |

My tweeters are installed in the small pull-off panel on the door next to the a-pillar. I'll post some pics tonight. Got to go off to slave camp now...lol.

Doug,
Do those tweaters get blocked at all when the door is shut? I just got all my stereo stuff in the mail yesterday so I'm pretty fired up to get it all installed!!! I will probably put my tweaters in the same location as you. |

They are not blocked when the doors are closed. It was the best spot I found to locate them. Great sound. Good luck with your install. Let us know how it works out.
P.S. When you make the holes, be sure to check the back-side. There is place supporting on the back side, mine is tucked down in the corner as close as I could get it. You will see what I'm talking about when you look.

Doug,
How did you secure those into that piece? My tweeters came with a couple different mounting pieces but both won't work in that application. I think if i cut the hole pretty tight to the size of the tweeter I can just secure the tweeter on the backside with some silicone or something. How did you do it? Thanks.... almost done with my installation! |

what brand tweeters did you get and what type of mounting options did it come with? avoid silicone if you can. the vibration of closing the doors will work them loose after time
