Does anyone have access to an extensive guide to my X. I will be installing some video screen and making some changes so i would like some kind of wiring schematic PDF plus I am looking at doing some repair work myself and i need that book on PDF (not sure the name but i think they sell them at Advance Auto, they are vehicle specific). Does anyone have PDF versions that they have run accross on the web? |

Hi Marshall I have not seen any wiring diagrams for the internal wiring on our Excursions via web but if you subscribe to AllData the wiring schematics should be available there in the meantime.

I have the 2001 factory wiring diagrams, but they're not something you can transfer electronically. When you start tracing a circuit, the book may send you back & forth across several pages. Sorry. Your best bet is to order the diagrams for your 2000 model from the same place Ford gets them ... helminc.com
I paid between $200 & $300 for the 2-volume service manual and the 3rd volume of wiring diagrams. The wiring diagram book is about $70 alone. Those books have since saved me several times that amount. Forget Chilton & Haynes ... they're OK for the novice. I once bought a CD-version manual on eBay (I think it was pirated), but not having a laptop makes it difficult to use in the garage.
Speaking of Helm, Inc., I just received another service manual from them today. A 2-volume set on sale for $30 + S&H for a 1995 Cadillac Seville I recently bought. I plan to remove the entire Northstar drivetrain (engine, transaxle, ECM, axle shafts & all the electronic goodies) and shoehorn it into my Ford GT40 kit car. After I strip out what I plan to use, I'll part out the rest of the Caddy, and will probably get back more than what I paid for the whole car. |
