Hello again Gentlemen
My 2000 Diesel got the check engine light turned on. I had had problem with water in the fuel system earlier. I changed the diesel filter and drained the bowl empty first. The light went off and the truck was running great. (A lot improved mpg numbers in the overhead computer.) This morning it started ok, but after a block, it died. Started again with a long starter running.
I opened the diesel filter cover again and drained it and tightened it properly. It worked ok, but the check engine light is on again. In the evening when drove it again it had hesitation after few blocks of driving. I pulled on the side and let it run. After engine temperature had raised above the second level, I continued driving. No problem.

What did I do wrong ? Or is there something else than diesel filter to blame?
The old filter was really dirty. Truck has 57.000 miles, and I have used the antifreeze liquid in diesel all winter.

Any ideas please ?

Jukka great to hear back from you

If you've already changed out the filter, drained the bowl and getting the same symptoms I'd take a swing at you're still getting water in the fuel quite possibly.

To keep a better tab on whats in your fuel such as water, dirt, etc I highly suggest a Dahl-100 from an online retailer such as Dieselsite,if your geographical area see's temperatures in the subzeros on a daily basis I'd get the Dahl Fuel Filter Heater Conversion Kit also

How did the headlight conversion go by the way?

Hi Bill

I am almost too embarashed to tell this...but it helps if you check the oil every now and then. I poured 2 gallons of oil to the engine. No wonder there was no preassure. Only thing I was wondering was, that why oil light did not came on ?
The service engine soon -light is still on. I added similar diesel treatment and engine runs ok now.

The headlight conversion went ok. It does not look as good as the original lights, but now I got it legal. I finally got the Finnish plates to it this week. It took more than half an year of paper work and modifications. This is the first diesel X in this country.

Now I am looking into Banks upgrades: exhaust, chip, transmission kit etc.

enjoy the sun

No sweat on being low on oil I'm sure we've all been down that road a time or two with a car/truck I can't answer why the oil indicator lamp did not come on,maybe it wasn't low enough?

The SES(service engine soon light) if it's still on the one way to clear that error code is to disconnect the Negative terminals from both batteries for like 20 min,but they can stay off for shorter time is the essence.

Good to hear you got the conversion knocked out and getting the X legal'd up to operate

If you have questions about performance upgrades post on up
