Bill,how much sound power you running with your Excursion and do you have dual alternators in place or a high output single?

i'm running 2 4000 watt amps (rms) 8000 (max) pulling 400 amps each. two batteries under the hood with a diesel battery tray in a v10 then 6 xtra batts in the rear. And right now just one hi-output alt but soon to add a second.

Bill do you have any pictures of where you mounted the extra batteries? I would like to add an additional battery for aux power. |

the second battery mounts with the battery tray from a diesel. The support is already there you will need to move some round canaster thing. Sorry not what it is but if you remove the bracket for it, it will mount under the battery tray. the other batteries sit in a battery tray with the amp rack in the rear of the truck. those come and go as I need them only for sound comps. Another way to add a battery is under the truck between the frame rails and step that space will hold 5 yellow tops each side or there is some dead space under the truck by the muffler. just a few spots to think of

The next show is at Beale Air Force base on May 22 at 11am. I have some pictures from the last show posted in my gallery. I took third even after catching an amp on fire.

Bill does those amps flame up when not enough cooling is applied when they are running full power?

Yea they are only rated for 1ohm and I run it at .7ohm to get the full power out of it. it does come with 4 fans in it. but it's modded to run hotter. I usally only do a 30 second run and there is no problem but this was 4 min of constant music which is very hard on the system
