Although I haven't pulled my grill off, I'm assuming that the grills "egg crates" come out pretty easy being that I see X's all the time with the billet grills. I'm thinking about painting the inside of the grill black but want my old one to fall back on if she doesn't look good.
I suppose I'll do it like a reverse auction where the lowest price wins.....plus shipping of course.

Welcome to the Excursion forums 
Rob if I remember correctly there is plastic tabs that should permit the center and end fillers to pop out.
Sounds like an interesting paint project on the way
