ford gave me a loaner car while my ex is in the shop and noticed that once you start the car and drive a little way the locks closes automatically and i now remember that my expedition did the same . just wondering if my ex is supposed to do the same thing? thanks

Jimmy, the owners' manual says you can set the X to either auto lock the doors or not. It gives the proceedure to set it either way. Some folks hate that feature, some love it. I find it slightly annoying, but figure these days, it's probably better to have them locked.
Good luck!

Hello Gary,

I looked in my manual and I dont see and entry for auto-lock doors, I searched "I have a PDF" it for "lock" and found nothing....

I have a 2000 limited. Maybe it's not avaailable on mine.

Could you explain were you saw it, or tell what the procedure to turn on the door looking.

Ken D.

I am slowly making my way through the owner's manual for the truck. What I am looking for in particular is whether or not you can set it to unlock all of the doors when the truck is put in park. (At the moment, only the front passenger and front driver door unlock and the second-row doors remain locked.) It is a bit of a nuisance.

Autolock feature is on pages 115-116 of the '02 owner's manual.

Jimmy,
I have an 01 X that did not autolock. We recently installed a Viper 550 ESP security system for the added protection and remote start. Now the doors autolock, I wasn't even aware that the alarm had that feature,of but it was a nice surprise.
