I need help understanding the way my Excursion’s stereo is set up. Possibly wiring schematics.
This is what I want to do:
My wife got her new jeep liberty yesterday so we took her Kenwood deck out of it to put in my truck. The deck is Sirius ready and I have the tuner and antenna. It also has the dual zone feature. Will I be able to get the rear audio controls to work with the new deck? I also want to replace the CD changer with a DVD changer. I am assuming Kenwood-to-Kenwood, I will need a Kenwood changer plug.
I want this DVD to power 4 7-8 in. headrest monitors. I am going to replace the rear headrests with full size ones with a built in screen. I would like monitors with IR head phones for each individual monitor. I am going to put at least one XBOX maybe 2 so I want the screen to have two source modes each for switching.
I have bee on eBay looking at monitors and they are cheap but I don’t really know what I am looking at. There are several replacement headrests with monitor that have the wood border that would look really nice in my truck with the limited trim. But I think they might be junk. Does anyone have experience with these types of monitors?
I also want to know if the wireless IR headphones are independent of a certain screen. Can the screens be tuned?

Update:
I've got the Kenwood head unit in and the sirius sat. installed. Im not sure how to use the other harnes from the factory deck to get the rear audio working. I REALLY NEED A SCHEMATIC FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS for my X. If anyone has a PDF version this would be helpfull.
I am looking at purchasing a Kenwood KDV-C810 10 disc DVD changer to replace the factory cd changer. However, the new changer will be thicker than the 6 disc. Does anyone know if i can get a larger bracket to replace the ford one?
I still want this DVD to power 4 7in. headrest monitors. I am going to replace the rear headrests with full size ones with a built in screen. I have decided to use an RF modulator for each audio source and RF headphones. but i don't know if these headphones can select multiple channels and if the modulator has selectable output frequencies. Does anyone have any helpful info on these?
I am also unsure on how to install headrest monitors in the leather. Still not sure on a good high quality LCD with at least two selectable inputs. Any advice on this would be appreciated. |

Hey did you unplug the rear radio controls in the center console? If ya did that's tha cause for the rear speakers not working. I found this out the hard way.

the rear speakers work fine. i didn't unplug the rear audio control because i wanted to figure out a way to use the dual zone feature. I can't get it to work so i think i will just replace it with a plate with av inputs and maybe an ac input. is there and aftermarket part i can buy or am i going to have to make one? |
