ok I have a 2001 x 7.3 psd 37 inch tires(properly inflated)not much done motor-wise(yet!!) except for the bully-dog..my overhead trip computer never reads any more than 10.3 to 11.2 mpg..city or highway(I do a pretty even mix of both) I am not "very" heavy in the foot and I usually run the bully one step over stock or on stock..so what do you get? or this about right for a lifted ex? I'd love to get better mpg,but to be honest I love the ex so much I'd drive it if it got 2 mpg!!!!! lol and if I haven't said it before I'll ay it now,I wish I had bought one sooner, these things are great!!!

One thing I've always stood by is never go by what the overhead guess0meter displays

You get your speedometer recal'd already?

no its not recalibrated yet..I am thinking about buying that superlift calibrater(I think it's superlift),and yes I do realize that my speedo being off throws off my mpg figures it just seemed real low!

ok chp heres another question...I was recently on a jeep forum site and some guys were discussing the true speed calirater(superlift)when a bunch of other guys chimed and said you can just buy the appropriate speedo gear to do it your self.....so I am guessing it does work for jeeps but is this an option for x owners and if so how do you figure out what gear? just for the record I havent seen anyone stump you yet with a question and I dont want to be the first....haha

The recalibration is done by an electronic gizmo which I don't know the name off the top of my head but it plugs into the electrical system and the changes are made in that fashion.

I'm familiar that you have to change the speedo gear if you're altered the diffential,tire/wheel sizes say on Mustangs for example,so the Jeep guys are on the right track

I always enjoy new questions when it comes to the Powerstroke engines & Excursions, the challenges often keep my mind excercised and even learn more along the way

To my knowledge there is replacement gears but unsure if it's one general gear like a basic 21 or 23 tooth gear and the calibration may have to be done by an electronic tool via the OBD port.

I'll be home from California Weds night this week and will be able to look up the particulars Thursday morning, just remind me then if none of the other members can't nail it down
