Hey folks, first time poster here...thanks for all the valuable information ('00, 6.8, 4x4, 65K). I've just installed the Energy Suspension poly bushings and have a question. I installed the bushing opening facing up towards the engine. However, when I installed the retainers they did not pull the bushing opening completely closed, leaving I would say a gap of perhaps 1/8". First, should the openings face up and second, is this small gap in the bushing okay? Thanks.

Andy

First, welcome to the forum. My ol' stomping grounds are a little north of Winchester.

Assuming you're talking about the front swaybar bushings where the bar attaches to the crossmember, then a 1/8" gap in those bushings is OK and nothing to be concerned about. It doesn't matter if the gap points up or down because the bar gets twisted, and bears in both directions. I also opted to put the gap of mine to the top just because gravity is always trying to pull the bar down.

Thanks, Landylot. I thought the same thing about the gap facing upwards.
