The fan I used is from the Flex-a-lite corporation.I purchased it from www.summitracing.com part number # FLX-116 it was initially installed on our 1999 F250 7.3L till we bought our Excursion in 2002 than I transferred it over.
I used a relay to trigger the fan on/off automatically when the compressor cycles in/out.
The volume of air the FLX-116 pushes is quite amazing and very helpful in extracting the heat from the condensor and keeping the engine coolant at a normal temp.
Yes it does get quite toasty down this way during the summer.
Hawkeye's swing by Wallyworld and pick up a $10 digital temperature probe so we can see what your vent temps are doing at what fan settings front and rear, whats on and off.

Hi Bill,
Local WalMart doesn't have the digital probe, so I ordered it online. Same for Flex-a-lite.
Soon as I have it, I'll get a reading & email or post.
Thanks for your help!

When you get the fan kit in and you need additional pics of the wiring I'll go out and take a few more

Had a little spare time today, so I took the plunge and started insulating the a/c lines. Actually went fairly easy. Started aft of the right front wheel and worked back. One thing I noticed during the process was the foam didn't like to twist and bend to conform to the refrigerant lines. Took some ty-wraps, zip-ties or whatever you want to call them and secured the insulation every 12-18 inches and before and after a bend to help seal better. Worked out really well. Once the insulation was done went over everything with aluminum tape. Unable to get the original "cover" back on the line. I'll look for an alternative later. From the looks of things, the section of lines that run down from the engine compartment to where I started are going to be a little more difficult to access. I'm looking forward to getting the pusher fan and getting that wired up. Once again, Thanks again CHP Mustang for the advice/input on this

Hey Bill,
I had nothing better to do (yeah right!), so I insulated both the hot and the cold line. My temps are running about the same as yours. We are heading out to Fl today, so I'll stick the Tmeter in on the way and see what the temps are on the road. Around town, I can get to around 40 if I am driving any stretches where I am not stopping and starting. Yesterday, here in SC, @ 96 degrees, I pulled about 45 degrees after a bit.

I agree the insulation sticks don't conform real well to some of the bends in that case I made up some angle cuts to follow the bends then put the aluminum tape over the insulation.
Some areas the plastic loom cover did not go on tightly so some tape fixed that
I may actually get around to removing the inner fender liner to expose the cold line running down from the dryer and get that insulated up Saturday
Eddie if you questions when installing the fan gimme a call over the weekend I'll try and help ya out otherwise have a Fun & Safe 4th of July weekend

Great to see your getting the same numbers I have been getting but the 40 degrees tends to give me a headache after awhile and have to shut down the rear evaporator or turn down the fan setting on the front
I did have assistance from my older son doing the insulation work,it's alot of looking up at the underside of the truck for sure!

Of COURSE ! Bill would have a resolution to the angles....
just what I thought about doing
someone mentioned that they used bigger insulation and when the old wrap did not fit back over it, they went to the auto parts store and got some plastic wire wrap big enough to fit over it...
was sitting at the mall waiting on the wife to wear out the credit card yesterday and noteiced that the a/c took a LONG time to get me comfortable...
guess it's time to get the lines done and the freon checked...
