For those of us plagued by a monkey banging under the floorboard, I offer this as a possible solution in as much as, for now, it works. The left driver side floor board mount develpoed the klunks like everyone else has experienced. After trying all suggestions, I took it to the dealer---twice. Today, it started again :angry: The idea someone mentioned about the bolt possibly hitting the body housing came to mind. As I recall, someone tried grinding a place on the frame or body. I thought perhaps I could insulate the bolt as it goes through the body and the upper mount (technically it's called an "insulator" for yhos who care). I finally saw a possible answer sitting in the garage after a box of "stuff" fell off a shelf. There before me--Golf club grips! Yes--I'm not crazy--Rubber golf club grips. I played around with sizing but basically I cut the grip right below the top (butt end) and started fitting it as a sheath over the bolt. I finally settled on a length that was approximately the length from the top of body bolt hole down to the top of the lower insulator. There are no threads at all in the upper insulator. Once I could fit it where it would go down and engage the first part of the threaads, I trimmed a bit more and started tightening. I torqued it to 65 ft-lbs (not 105 as when I got pissed and decided to tighten the hell out of it) I took it out and put it into hard circle turns---No More Noise! Again, who knows if the demon as been tamed but at least I have a reprive! Good luck! David

Could this be the cause wandering issue of the "X"?
for me i have narrowed it down to the bad steering gearbox or bad leaf spring bushing.

nope the bushings do nothing more than seperate the leafs to prevent them from contacting eachother at the tips.
