whew.... I started at 7:47 am today and finished a little after 10:30 am... The driver side was kinda easy but the passanger side... wow... It was getting harder as I was heading toward the fire wall. The very last one I almost gave up..... but since it wass already lose then there was no way of turning back.... I check the gap on the old plugs and there were all passed the recommened .054. Oh ya.... And I didn't have to remove the fuel rail lines to the injectors.

And to think I was planing to take it to the dealer and blow 300 dollars... Cost of plugs, $19.86 Cost of leaning how to removed the COP on a 5.4 engine and other stuff.... priceless. , cost of my scratches & time on earth.... 3 hours of my life well spent

How many miles on your rig? What brand/type of plugs did you install?

right now or at the time I changed them? im at 98 thousands miles right now and time for a oil change and a transmision flush.... I replace them with motorcraft sparkplugs... The truck still had the originals on because I notice the threads on the old ones only were 4 or 5 turns and the newer plugs had the full turns. There had been a update on the recomended sparkplugs. When you change them be sure to use a CO2 canistor of air or a blower when you remove the coild... you don't want the dirt and crude to fall in to the holes when you remove or install the spark plugs.

I have a 2003 5.4L 4WD, I get 9 to 11 around town and 15 to 17 MPG on the highway, with a light foot as well.
