Hey... need everyones advice... I was just about to buy an '05 PSD Excursion as a replacement for my POS Hummer H2.

The question I have is that I travel with show dogs in the back, and in the summer I will let the car idle for several hours with the air on.

It seems that when the rear air is on, the Diesel vents into the cabin.

What do you guys think? I dont want to come back to dead dogs.

Please advise.

Hi Drew,

I travel with dogs and pull a 35' trailer with my 2001 PSD, never had a problem with fumes. Always leave it ideling when stopping to eat etc. Same with my 2000 PSD with 187,000 miles. Even with the price of diesel, there is just no other option.

Good Luck

Hi Drew and Welcome to the Excursion Forums

The Excursion will definitely be quite an upgrade from your present vehicle but as far as preventing outside air from entering with the AC on is to have the selector in the "MAX AC" position with all windows up and vents closed, any other selection and it'll draw air in from the outside.

If you're still having exhaust fumes entering then there's a window/door weather seal thats not making full contact and for a 2005 having those issues so early would be unusual but not impossible as the doors may need a tad adjustment at the dealer
