Ok, I thought all Excursions had the speed sensitive volume control on the head units?

I found some instructions (push in on volume button for 3-4 sec until option is displayed and adjust 1-5), but it doesn't work on my head unit. When I hit the volume/power button my unit just turns on/off and nothing else.

I have a 2000 Ex Limited and the head unit is a combo single cd/tape player with a 6-dish changer in the console.

Am I missing something? My owners manual doesn't even mention this option. Thanks.

Some of the radios don't have it....

if you have the radio on....
push in the volume button...
and it turns off immediatly...
then yours doesn't...
if it doesn't turn off - hold in without moving until the digital display says Spd Volume or something like that.... then use the up and down button to adjust between 1 and 5...

all our X's had it and the wife's lincoln LS did as well....
but they were the premium sound systems (according to Ford )

I could find nothing for the single CD/cassette head units maybe due to they're the base stereo but most CD6 units have the speed sensitive feature.

I have it on my CD6 in my '01 but I can't tell that it really works. What do you have yours set to? And, I seem to remember the adjustment goes from 1 - 10?

I have ours set at #1 and that at times seems to be too loud due to how quiet the truck is but #7 is it's maximum setting.

Really... I have ours set at 6. Perhaps 1 is maximum? (I know, RTFM)

For our 2002 in the owners supplement 1 is the lowest and 7 is the highest.
