The Putco is very easy to install. Pop the hood and you will see about 4 to 6 screws along the top border of the grill. Take those screws out anf the whole thing tilts forward. I went and bought toggle bolts to install the grill with as the Chinese hardware is crap--it may or may not fit your grill. Toggle bolts worked great for me. 10 screws and it is on. I used some black pull ties to ratched down and area or two of the grill to get the right curve...I found it neccessary for it to snug up firm in a couple of areas. I used black ones going horizontally in two or three spots. You can't see them. Supposedly, this is not necessary but my 01 has a curve to the grill. Either way--it was easy---after I spent 2 hours scratching my head on the Chinese hardware.. Buy the long toggle bolts and you can do it in about 30 minutes.

Don't forget that after you remove those top screws, there are 5 clips along the bottom edge of the grille that need to be unhooked with a long flat-blade screwdriver. Just tilting it out could cause one or more of those clips to break. |

Very easy install-just take the screws out of the top of the grill under the hood. The whole thing tils forward for easy access. Somewher I said to go to home depot and buy some long toggle bolts to mount the grill with. I was not impressed by the Chiaaa neeese hardware--it would not work on my 01 grill. Toggle bolts were a snap. Take you maybe 30-40 minutes. I repeated myself didn't I?? |
