I have an '05 6.0 Limited w/ the tow package. My Ex does have athe factory sway bar but I believe it is 1". The Helwigs, I believe are available in 1 1/4" and 1 1/2".
Is it worth upgrading the stock set-up?
Will there be a noticable difference?
What diameter Hellwigs are you guys upgrading to?
I bought the Ex to tow my boat but it still is a daily driver so I want a comfortable ride. Boat ways about 7500lbs.

While the stock sway bar is there...
diameter is not the only consideration for the performance of a sway bar...
the torsional strength of the Hellwig has been noted as MUCH better than the stock bar...
so not only is it thicker, but it is stronger and the mounting system gives it even more of an advantage...
the sway bar should not effect the straight ahead ride... but should help with the side to side sway as you hot dips on one side.....
(most still believe the Landyot radius bars are an improvement ont he sway bars...)
As far as which Hellwig to chose, I don't think they make but one size for the rear and one size for the front....
Those that have upgraded "sing the praises" of it !!!

Your right
I went back to their site and the rear is 1 1/4" diameter (vs. 1" stock). The front is 1 1/2" (vs ???).
When you upgrade should I do both or just the rear?
I want the best possible ride that I can resonably get.
Id like to do the Ranch RS9000 w/ the air compressor, radious bars, sway bar and something to lift the back when I have the trailer on, maybe airbags.
Thanks for the help.
Love you signiture line BTW.

Please allow me to add that the anti-swaybar and the radius-rods perform two totally separate functions. While the swaybar and the R-rods work extremely well in concert, the R-rods do nothing to improve anti-sway, or body-roll ... which is the purpose of the anti-swaybar. The only thing the R-rods do is to keep the rear axle in a controlled arc as it travels up and down ... something the swaybar cannot do. |

Hey there, I put a F350 dually bar on mine. It doesn't have anything to do with the ride. It's just a wholelot more stable towing , cornering and heaven sent to me with a 8" lift. Bill |
