I just bought a 2000 X last week. I have a few questions.
1)where do I find the keypad code?
2)I need new tires. what are some slightly larger than stock sizes that look and ride good. I will be on the road a lot..
3)Are there any quirky things I need to know?

Your vehicle has a factory set 5 digit code that operates the keyless entry system. You can also program your own 5 digit personal entry code. You should have got the factory code from whoever sold you the X. You will need the factory code to set your personal code. Full instructions are located in your owners manual on page 68/69/70.

Welcome to the best and only site that caters to us "X" owners! The key pad comes in your owners manual. Look in there and the glove box and the center console, It can get pricey if you have to take it to the dealer to scan it for the code! I have and love BFGoodrich's.Stock shocks stink, replace them ASAP! Need more details on yours(X)(PSD,V10).

Thanks guys! I have a 2000 4x4 PSD!
I don't want to to ad any lift to it right now but I would like to ad some decent tires and shocks. I need tires that are good for highway travel as I am on the road a lot. What shocks would you suggest?
I already have a Superchip(50hp) on order. Actually a buddy has it and is sending it to get programed.
What are some sound upgrades you guys have used?
I also will be towing with it a lot! Gotta get to the lake in style!

I have the same truck, LOVE IT!!  I changed the shocks to MONROE Reflex, tighten up the ride alot (may want to go another route since you are talking about towing (I tow nothing)... Also have the GOODYEAR A/T's size 305x70x16 on the stock LTD rims, gives the truck a more agressive stance  , stock wheels look downright puny on it
