| Quote: | Took some silicone spray and treated all the rubber sealing around the vehicle. Lo-and-behold, the rattle ceased! I have been regulary spraying the rubber and noticed a much improved overall silence in the cab. Just keep them lubricated and you might notice an improvement...maybe not. Anyway, just a thought for those that have a window rattle problem...it solved mine. |
Actually, lubricating the door weatherstripping is listed on your maintenance schedule ... at least it's listed in my owner's manual ... and I think the recommended interval is every 6K miles. |

Yup, it's one of those things that gets easily overlooked. In fact, when I did this the first time, the truck had only 4000 miles. I did not set out to solve the window rattle thru this process, but rather out of concern for the dry weather stripping, I lubricated it and..voila! rattle happened to be solved. I make sure i have a can of spray silicone with me even when traveling. After a while , those massive doors flex enough to start the whole rubbing/drying process again. I regulary take a rag with silicone, wipe the inside of the doors and lubricate the rubber. Much more pleasant riding without those annoying rattles/squeaks. |
