I had a 99 Expedition that some thief got a FULL tank out. They got me during the $3.20 per gallon time this past season. I found out from the cop that they have a way of punching out the valve and flaps with a long rod.
He also told me a that he had seen where they punch a hole in the tank and just let it run into their gas cans. works real well on some SUV's, as they are high enough. I don't know about the Excursion, since the tank is armored so well.... |

Oh, yea, there was over $300 in internal damage to the tanks and fill line.... |

Sounds like he was pretty determind and would have gotten around a locking cap also though.
If they want it bad enough, they will get it.

All,
If the price of diesel ever gets up around $3.00-3.50 a gallon again I'm going to add a switch to my fuel filler door, wired into our Excursion's alarm system. At least we can scare the hell out of them when they open the door!

hi all sorry for making this thread up. my gas cap is locking and i just in need Honda CRV Gas cap. anyone know where can i buy one? thanks for any help  |
