The question, to purchase a bigger than factory trans cooler or purchase a bigger pan such as...

The answers are....

My vote for a V10 transmission fluid cooler or a Tru-Max.

Before you go purchasing the pan you have to make sure it fits the Excursion due to the transmission support crossmember is basically underneath the Excursion transmission versus the SuperDuty pickups where the crossmember is further back.

For the V10 cooler check with Dale at www.Powerstrokeshop.com and the Tru-Max go to www.dieselsite.com (ask for Bob or Cheryl)

Didn't go the way of the bigger cooler (warranty) or deeper pan (forgot) so added Lucas to the trans, towed a loaded 20ft trainler to Indianapolis and the temp never got above 170 (hit 170 on a really long hill climb but otherwise sat between 155-160)...
