| Quote: | Scott, one more thought. While you are checking out anti-sway hitches, check out the Hensley Arrow. It is REALLY expensive - $2700, but in all the reading I've done on any website I've never seen a bad word except about the price. Stops sway from starting. Period.
ALL the owners who have them LOVE them, and you can move them from trailer to trailer if you sell your current rig. I do not own one and have NO financial interest in anyone buying one. I have considered one but am holding off at the moment.
Don't have the website, but a search engine will get you right to it with "Hensley Arrow."

Hensley sends me promo's twice a yr! Like 500 down and 2 yr's at so-so with no interest. I have done a lot of research on it, then I decided to by the Excursion. I will decide after my trip to the smoky moutains 1st week of june.

Weight is not the issue, side surface area and lenght are. I have towed all kinds of things with my truck and the 28' 9500# enclosed race car trailer is the worst with sway. Balance is key as is a weight distributing hitch. I am running that w/o sway control and it is managable but not great. I think once you cross 25' enclosed you should definitely run 1 or 2 sway control bars. Shock type damper are better than friction IMO. Any money spend here is well worth it. As for weight, I tow a 20' deck over with construction equipment at 15000-18000# on a regular basis with no sway problems. More tires also help in this case. I have towed as much as 23000# but don't recommend it except in emergency cases. |

Scott I have 2003 EX V-10 and it pulls my 33 foot Keystone Mountaineer/9300# Travel Trailer just fine. I have a Pullrite hitch that is less complicated than a Hensley Arrow and is very stable. Pullrite is at (574) 259-1520 or their web site.
Take a look at the Pullrite hitch - watch the video and you will understand. I have used one for 6 years on different vehicles.
