If my memory is correct, I read a thread that referenced a comparison of programmers, including Edge, Superchips, and some other company. Does anyone know where to find it?

Not that I know...
but I've had the Superchips 1705 for my 02 7.3,
the diablo predator for my 03 6.0L,
and trying the SCT for my 05 6.0L....

All have their positives and negatives....

what are you looking for ? meaning what is important to you with regads to a programmer ?

Then no programmer will ever allow you to recover the cost in fuel savings alone....

$300 to $400 will take a LONG time to recover if you EVER get even 1 mpg more....

IMHO
All deliver instant SOTP (Seat of the pants) improvement in the responsiveness and performance of your bus not only instant, but suprising performance improvement for most...

all, if driven in a conservate manner, will give some mpg improvement - 1 to 3 mpg on average...

most of the older styles caused grief for your auto tranny after a while...
Most of the newer styles control the auto much better - some very well so full pwer all the time will not kill your clutch packs...

Have heard Quadzilla (in Fort Worth) and the metroplex's own Al Boenker's son
has a new inexpensive module that is getting good reviews www.quadzillapower.com

have tried the SCMT on a 7.3L - but will never buy another Superchips related product because of what (IN MY OPINION) is their blatant misrepresentation of their claims.... among other things...

Had the "bad" Diablo Predator on my 03 6.0L for two years and about 40K miles with no adverse effects that I could tell (except too much fuel usage on the 100HP setting because I used the power too much - it was just too much fun NOT to !
So I ran around in the 65HP mode 99.9% of the time... which gave me LOTS of grins AND improved mpg.... sometimes
Now many of the experts say it caused too high of cylinder pressure and would lift the heads and cause gasket leakage - dunno - never experienced that... www.diablosport.com

The experts latest rage is the SCT XCal2 - it is supposedly abe to control ANY aspect of the engine PCM, but it is a CUSTOM program and as such is not always right out of the box...
in fact, I am returning one today since my timeslips at the track proved the tuner to be SLOWER than stock
Maybe they can get it right with time and effort, but I'm impatient and don't want to pay money to be a guinea pig for them www.sctflash.com

Now, I have buds that have the XCal and LOVE it - and have ridden in trucks that will pin you to the seat with it.... but mine seemed to be so much more hype out of Superchips....
thus - I will never purchase another thing from them...

Did I tell ya I HATE corporate fraud ?!?!?!!
