Just got back from Indianapolis dragging 20 feet of trailer and I got 15.8 per gallon .... Stuck the cruise on 65 out and back, used the tow/haul button on hills, added Lucas to the tank. Also added Lucas to the trans and the temp never went over 160, I hit 170 on a long hill climb in PA once but it went back to 155 as soon as I started down the other side

Not bad, not bad at ALL !!!!
Some people wish for that time of mpg in their cars towing nothing !
Bet ya woulda got more betta without tow/haul too !
I'm not convinced that tow/haul is needed on these things except for a few conditions...
like with MAX towing weight and on downhills used as engine braking....
personally I will turn it on and off as conditions dictate...
(typically I just turn it on to help slow down when needed and then turn it off)
tow/haul just changes the shift points by holding it in the lower gears longer and downshifting to the lower gers faster when slowing down....
IMHO and YRMV and all those other disclaimers

The tow/haul was good to use in PA because of all the hills, when in Ohio and Indiana I not notice it until I had to stop or slow down.... I also pumped up my tires to 50#'s of air in the rear and the stability was great.... Like Eric once said, with the truck in the 65MPH zone it is riding in the sweet spot....
I was not that sure about the mileage but when I went to North Carolina I got almost 19 mpg using the LUCAS, redid the math from both trips and it came out the same.... Love the truck, hate the crazy gas prices but no complaints

I have averaged 15.2 MPG for over 150K. Lots of highway miles at speed with traffic flow.

I havnt been here in a while but decided to visit...We got back from vacation and beat the hurricane before it hit new orleans. We drove from Austin, texas to nashville, then to baltimore and hour north to york,pa and then to daytona beach. we left there, got to ft walton beach and had a new suncoast installed and then raced home to beat the hurricane...there is nothing better than getting over 800 miles to a tank! We cruised and took our time..usually 70-75 and just took it easy...The new 15" dvd player sure made the trip nice( wireless headphones so I can listen to xm while the girls giggle to cartoons...and it was nice to sit in the second seat feet propped up on pillow on the console and watch a two hour movie and then back into the drivers seat...this was HUGE in keeping fatigue down on 15 hour trip!) as well as the new tinted windows...a friend told me that using the tint he put on it would drastically reduce the temp inside....its really night and day difference over what it was...the "stock smoked" glass has NO HEAT DEFLECTION qualities whatsoever and the new tint is amazing...anyhow over 3350 miles and everaged just below 20 mpg. me, wife and four girls and ALL THIER LUGGAGE FOR TWO WEEKS! lol
