Hello, I was driving my 01 PSD X today and came to a frequent stop at a stoplight. After doing so,

the ABS light has came on, and stayed on! Lookin for advice! Thanks

Based on my experience if nothing else is acting up it could be the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) which is installed on top of the rear axle housing, check and make sure the connector is snapped in securely as it can pop loose if bumped by the sway bar or knocked loose by other means.

If you've checked the connection and it looks solid, you may need to replace the sensor. It costs about $16 and takes only five minutes to change.

A bad VSS will also give drivability problems. Speedo acting weird, erratic shifting etc. etc.

If you don't have those problems, I wouldn't suspect it and would have the PCM scanned for codes (they get stored when the light lights up)

I would also check your brake fluid. Why?? Heck, I don't know...but it should always be the first thing you do. That; and just open the hood and look at the engine.

Ken, I had to replace mine a month ago. I drove around with the ABS light on for a month before I got around to replacing it. I had no driveability problems that I noticed. I even delivered a couple loads of wood, so I pulled the heavy trailer without incident. Light went out as soon as I replaced the VSS.

Ditto,no driveability issues either when ours became unplugged in August 2003 while in Phoenix

I had to reset the ABS lamp and that was it
