Last night the "Water in the Fuel" indicator came on. In the owner's manual it says to empty some fuel bowel (I dont have the manual in front of me).
Not being a mechanic, is this a hard procedure or is this something I should let the local mechanic handle. I'm about 6 miles away from my local Ford dealer and don't want to drive that far with gas in the tank. The local mechanic is only a mile away.
Ideas? Advice?

On top of the engine there'll be a black plastic cover that has Powerstroke on it,just behind/under it is a canister with a black lid, that'll be your fuel filter/water separator unit.
Viewing from the front there'll be a Yellow plastic lever on the rear leftward side, turn that lever clockwise 45 degrees(it's limit) for about 5-10 seconds to drain off the water on the bottom of the bowl.
Most owners as well as myself takes about 3' of 3/8" ID hose(should be the size) and slips it onto the bottom of the steel drain line coming down from the bowl it'll be somewhat a bear to reach but not impossible, then the other end into an empty motor oil bottle to avoid diesel from running down your driveway.

Bill,
Thanks for the information.
That was a very easy problem to solve! Nothing as nice as seeing that light go off!
Thanks again,
Bowden |

seen that, one of the things on my wish list, or looking at the dp tuner 80 hp chip from jody....
let me know how the steroid works out, you going with steroid or steriod T
correct me if i am wrong buit basicly it sound like it mainly changes fuel pressures, is that what i am reading into it here...

I'll probably get the Steroid T to stack on the SCMT 1700 or use standalone.
