Has anybody out there used a TORNADO with their v 10. I just ordered one and it will be here in a couple days. Hoping this may help in the perfomance department. Also the DENSO spark plugs look interesting.
Thanks

All reports I get from anyone other than those selling the Tornado is that it ranks right up there with Snake oil....

Well...since you got it coming you might as well do some tests for us!
Here's what we'll need.
Get a reasonable Baseline
a. Do a 0-60 run. Find a parking lot or something and have a friend with a stopwatch. (Do you're best with the watch.)
b. Top off the tank.
c. Drive 50-60 miles all highway. Return to station and top off. Note MPG.
d. Now drive a city route for about 50-60 miles. Return to SAME station and top off. Note MPG.
Got a trailer? Make the runs with your trailer. Note MPG.
INSTALL TORNADO!
Do it all again. Note MPG and performance improvements...if any. The idea, obviously, is to try and operate the vehiclel the same exact way each time between baseline and Tornado.
Only caveat, I think this should all be done on the same day. Or at least keep try to do it on days with similar weather.
If you do it and post your findings I'll buy you a year's subscription to SuperMotors or pay for your next oil change. Your choice!
So try and be scientific about it, eh! I want to put this Tornado thing to rest once and for all.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I put in a knock off version from eBay--it did NOTHING! I saw the tornado at Pep Boys and pulled it out og the box--looked exactly the same as the one I got. My advice, save your money. Buy a Hypertech reprogrammer or other reprogrammer if you want to make a difference. Good Luck!

i have a small hot rod shop inmichigan and i had a customer with a 90's ford f-150 with 300 six ask about the tornado's and K&N filter, not knowing much about the tornado i called my distribuotr and had 2 sent out ( dual hoses on a 300 six ), put K&N in first goit about 1 MPG more, then we installed the 2 tornado's and got another MPG, so not bad for a $50 investment, i am going to try a few more on different vehicles to make sure of the finding befor i become a distributor for tornado

Well I installed the unit in the v-10 air intake tube. Testing it everyday driving no more than 60 mph, steady with the throttle did all the right things when evaluating milage. I went from 12 / 14 mpg. to
8 at best. I left it in for 3 weeks. I even moved it in the tube to other locations.
Is there any trick to get it to work?
Thanks

Yes. Remove it. A 4MPG drop is absurd.
What did you chooseas your prize for doing the "test" on the Tornado?

Congrats on getting your money back! I wish people would do that! Problem is most folks who use them are automotively challenged (no offense to anyone PLEASE!).
I can understand the allure (INCREASED YOUR MPG!!!!!) and the curiosity (Man...the BOX says it'll work!!) but I find a lot of the people who swear by it (yes...I've met some ) don't really even know how to computer actual fuel mileage figures let alone how something like a piece of recycled soda can stuck in the airflow will REDUCE performance.
They'll say things like: "I put one in my 87 GMC Jimmy and drove to Kona (from Hilo....all two lane "highway") and I got great mileage! Yeah, well no kidding. Yer not driving around town!!
I have challenged many V10 owners to PROVE increase MPG over the years. I haven't had one come back with any gains. This story is the worse loss I've ever heard.
