When I bought my X in 2002 I was not quite prepared for the mileage, so like others I bought the Tornado, I figured it was worth a shot. I have left it in the X, hopefully it is still there!! I will driving to Crisfield Maryland this Christmas, yes I said CHRISTmas, and I will track the mileage up with the Tornado it and back with it out. I will try to use the same stations and pumps for fill up, but that is no promise. It is about 1400 miles round trip. I will post on New Years Day. |

I have an 00 V10 2WD that last year had an SCT chip put in for more power and MPG. Fortunately for me the owner of SCT and I did the tuning and data logging on the road instead of a dyno. Before we put the chip in I kept MPG records for 60 days. Previous to the chip I was getting 11.8 city and 13.4 Hwy. After the chip I am getting 12.9 city and 17.6 Hwy. The program we customized for my truck was made for my truck only. We achieved better MPG by adjusting air fuel ratio to throttle position. When the throttle is at a percentage that would be considered "cruise", approximately 70% or less, the air to fuel ratio is increased so less fuel is burned than in a stock configuration.
