Howdy Y'all
After much research I've decided to go the air bag route for towing my trailer. The choices are Air-Lift or Firestone Ride Rite. Both are comparably priced at around $225 ( summit racing ).
Does anybody have experience with either of these brands ?
Thanks,
Dan |

I installed the Air-Lift's in my 05 a couple of months ago. Simple install and they work great. |

Did you guys use a compressor for just the air bags.
Im going to install air bags and am thinking of adding an oversized compressor to handle tire inflation and maybe air horns. I figure if Im going to put a compressor in Ill try and get some other benefits as well.
Any thoughts on this?

I have had the Airride system on my last Dodge and had the Firestone system on my previous suburban.
Bags seem to be equal to both. However I will never buy the stage 2 air compressor again from Air-ride. Weak, plastic, and did not last one season. Yes, they did warranty it. But then the replacement did not last 6 months.
If you want a compressor, which I recommend since not having one on the "burb and then one on the dodge, i woudl go with Firestone's. Their compressor is more $$, but you also get what you pay for |

Hello Dan
Sorry late reply.
I installed last year the Air Lift airbags and compressor to my 2000 x 4x4 diesel.
Part numbers #57340 and #25592
I ordered those directly from Air Lift Company ( airliftcompany.com ) and got them cheaper than from Summit or other places.
I have been very happy with those. Compressor working fine even I have not covered that anyhow - I should as we have a lot of salt on the roads up here.
Just one hint if you install the compresson as well: You can leave the manual filling-hoses uninstalled and then save couple of unnesessary holes from rear bumber and useless hoses.
Instructions were clear and the work took me a bit more than a lazy day. Most time spent on looking for best wiring route for gauge wires.

I got the Firestone one from Summit a couple of months ago. I love it and has helped with towing my 7k trailer. I just use a cheapo 12v compressor from Walmart to air them up.
Have no experience with the Air-Lift.
