Has anyone installed a backup camera? What model did you use?
I've looked at the one that is a direct 3rd light replacment but cannot justify the price. It sure is a nice unit though.
Wanted to see if any of your fellers (or gals) have installed one and what you went with.
It must perform two functions: Help me see if kids/animals are behind me and help me see my trailer hitch to aid in hooking up. I'll be running the video unit through an in-dash DVD player which, BTW, will also have an input for a wireless camera in my horse trailer. (prety cool stuff if you ask me. )

I have the Eclipse back up camera hooked up to an Eclipse AVN5495 & it works great. I mounted it on top of the receiver & I can see the top inch of the hitch ball. it's so nice not having to get out of the truck 20 times to get lined up on the trailer, I get it on the first shot now.

I saw one on ebay for $349. Better than the manufacturer's site I just linked you to. You should grab that one. I'm not going to. I've decided to replace my 3rd brake light (CHMSL) with the one from the Lightning and wire the cargo lamps to my backup lamps like LANDYOT.
My search is still on.

I've learned it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission!

I wore that one out.
She now tells me it is better to ask permission than to develop "blue balls".

Mine is made by straight shot . I don't remember how much I paid for it at the time... I do like it becasue its small and can see good when i'm backing up to a trailer and night time backing up is no problem.

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.
