I've got a 2003 EB 4x4 Ex with the 6.0, 29k miles. I have made incremental improvements to my suspension over time, due to budgetary reasons. I focused first on the rear by having Landyot install Gen II radius rods, and a local 4x4 shop install RS9000's and the Hellwig antisway bar. This was done about 16 months ago or so. All were great improvements.
Recently the OEM front shocks had been driving me nuts; any time I hit a bump it was like someone hitting the truck with a sledgehammer. Speedbumps taken at 20mph would bottom out the front suspension to the point of slamming the rubber stops. So I had the fronts replaced with Edelbrocks, even though I had read one person saying they're too soft. So far I like the set up I have, for the most part. 90% of my driving is around town, no towing. In the summer I tow ~5000 lb boat/trailer about 3 weekends per month and maybe one long distance trip towing the boat per year. The Edelbrocks give a nice ride up front, I think they're a good combination of "firm enough but not too firm" while I think the RS9000's are too firm even at the softest setting (when not towing). However, they do a nice job when towing the boat.
BUT - I had gotten complaints about the ride being pretty rough in the back, even with the RS9000s set at 1 (softest). I'm undecided about replacing the RS9000s in the rear with Edelbrocks. I know I'm never going to get a Cadillac ride out of this truck (and I don't want a Cadillac ride) but it sure seems like the RS9000s are pretty stiff. I'd be afraid the Edelbrocks might not be adequate for towing. I'd rather put up with a stiff ride 90% of the time as long and have the control while towing rather than less control with rear shocks that are too soft. I tow with the rear shocks set on 1.
Anyone have any experience towing with Edelbrock shocks on the rear care to comment?
I'm thinking I never noticed how stiff the rear end was because I have a nice comfy ride up front, and maybe that's what other folks posting in this forum may be experiencing as well. Let's face it; the front seats are the most comfortable ones. I think I've ridden in the back once in the 2 yrs+ I've owned this vehicle; it's just too much fun to drive the beast for me to give the wheel to the wife, if I can help it (plus the 6.0 is a blast to romp on). The point is, the folks who post in this forum may not realize how stiff the ride is in the back because we're always the ones driving! So our opinions may be skewed to the front seat experience. Is that the case with the rest of you?

What tire pressure to you run....
I found my 03 with the 9000's set on 1 and the tire pressure down would make for a soft ride !
but I also had changed out my stock shocks for rancho's as well...
If you got the stock shocks - CHANGE them
Another thing many of us have done on the 03's is to either change the front bump stops or trim them to give a bit more movement before it bottoms out !
you might try changing your front steering stabilizer - only like $30 @ 4 wheel parts for a good Procomp es3000 (I think that's the number )
